16 synonyms, and when to use each

"Worked" tells the reader you had the job, which the job title above the bullet already said. The word that follows it usually points to the replacement: "worked on" a project becomes delivered or executed, "worked with" people becomes collaborated or liaised, "worked with" a tool becomes used or configured, and worked shifts become staffed or covered.

Leave these in the thesaurus

"Toiled", "labored" and "slaved" are the thesaurus's idea of work; on a resume they describe how hard it was, not what came of it.

The one thing to remember

If a bullet starts with "Worked as", delete it; the job title already says that, and the space is better spent on a result.
